Pottery
I love clay, the way it mirrors images and textures, the way it can appear deceptively soft, yet brick-hard.
Yes, I love clay. It’s mesmerizing to have your hands on a piece of clay, pushing here, pulling there, spinning, spinning, spinning on the wheel. So many forces at work - gravity, centrifugal force, heat and chemistry come into play to make something beautiful, something of value, something to serve and/or eat from! Even the imprint of your fingers and hands make marks that last eternally! Wow!
Most of my pottery is oxidation fired in an electric kiln (unless otherwise noted), and is dishwasher and food-safe.
